- Combines online and face-to-face instruction. Students may participate in different ways: online - synchronous, online - asynchronous, face-to-face, or as a flexible learner (student has a degree of choice as to how they participate each week).

- Flex courses may provide students with the opportunity to meet in-person on campus, on the synchronous days and times already scheduled, if conditions allow.

Students will examine the history of international and domestic terrorism and the fundamental concepts of Homeland Security both Pre and Post 9/11. Students will be provided with an overview of the structures and functions of the governmental agencies responsible for protecting the United States from terrorism. Students will review the process of planning and preparation for the potential response to future attacks in the United States. Incorporates substantive criminal law with emphasis on the elements of each crime and the proof required to prosecute or defend the crime charged.
