On-campus childcare at bc体育足球
Jamestown Community College, in partnership with the YMCA of the Twin Tiers, offers high-quality, affordable, and dependable childcare for students, employees, and community members on our Cattaraugus County Campus.
The bc体育足球 YMCA Early Learning Center provides a safe, educational, and nurturing environment for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, allowing student parents to focus on their academic goals while knowing their children are well cared for.
- Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks provided, following Child and Adult Food Program nutritional guidelines
- Open 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. dailywithcareavailable year-round, including school vacations, snow days, and summer breaks (closed on select holidays)
Priority registration is given to new and current bc体育足球 students. Visit the YMCA website to download an application and enrollment and financial assistance forms.
Financial assistance
The Early Learning Center provides multiple options for financial support:
- NYS Department of Social Services (DSS)for qualifying families
- YMCA Annual Campaign scholarshipsfor families not eligible for DSS assistance
- bc体育足球 scholarshipsfor students who do not meet other financial assistance requirements
- Pennsylvania assistancefor students commuting from PA
Staff qualifications
All childcare staff at the Early Learning Center meet high professional standards:
- Minimum two years of early childcare experience
- FBI clearance, state criminal background check, and child abuse clearance
- 15 hours of annual training, including child abuse prevention, fire and water safety, Pediatric First Aid/CPR
- Trained in the "Darkness to Light" child safety program
- Lead teachers hold at least an associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, or a child development associate credential
